Quality Auditor/Food Technologist sought for seafood company in Torbay

With the expansion of its technical team, the company is now looking for a Food Technologist to support the development of products for the retail sector.
This role will suit someone with a genuine passion for their work in the food industry who wants to join a company that values collaboration, mutual respect, accountability and a desire to continuously improve.
It is likely to suit a recent graduate with up to 3 years experience in a similar technical role in high-risk food production.
What you ll be responsible for
Creating finished product specifications and managing the specification process for customers, within agreed timescales. You will additionally be a key member of the development team, with responsibility for ensuring all documentation in relation to NPD of products and processes is recorded in-line with customer and BRC requirements. (The company is BRC AA rated).
Your day-to-day duties will include
- Conducting trials for new products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute successful trials
- Coordinating with production to ensure seamless integration of new products
- Maintaining detailed records of trials, NPD and other relevant processes
- Creating and reviewing product specifications in both the company s own format and across a number of retail specification platforms
- Ensuring the site stays compliant with retailer quality standards
Candidates who will be a great fit for this role
- Food Science degree e.g. BSc Food & Nutrition or BSc Food Science & Technology
- Either recent graduate or 1-3 years experience in a food manufacturing role
- Self-motivated, inquisitive individuals with a drive for continuous improvement
