Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation/Electrical Technician with a background in the mining sector . The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance , troubleshooting , and repair of underground mining equipment . This position requires regular travel to mining sites in the Rustenburg and Limpopo regions, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards and downtime is minimized.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of underground mining equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics on electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize equipment failure.
- Work collaboratively with on-site teams to identify and address any operational issues.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry standards and site-specific requirements.
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and downtime.
- Provide regular feedback and reports on equipment performance and potential improvements.
- Work closely with the maintenance manager to plan and prioritize maintenance schedules based on site requirements.
- Travel and Site Support
- Be available for on-call support to address urgent maintenance needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified as an Instrumentation Technician or Electrical Technician, with relevant trade certifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mining sector.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems used in underground mining equipment.
- Must be medically fit and have a clear criminal record.
