Job Description
Your duties will encompass:
- Engage with unions on labour matters and collective agreements.
- Lead negotiations, handle disputes, and represent the company at council and CCMA levels.
- Conduct and oversee internal disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and council-specific regulations.
- Ensure adherence to labour legislation and Bargaining Council rules.
- Submit all statutory documentation, including council contributions and compliance reports.
- Develop and implement labour-related policies.
- Provide training and guidance to management on IR best practices.
- Assist with HR reporting and statutory submissions.
- Oversee leave and employment benefits in alignment with council rules.
- Manage the hiring process.
- Verify references and perform criminal and background checks.
- Draft employment contracts, including permanent, limited duration, and contract staff agreements.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and manage renewals or terminations as needed.
- Manage all Skills development reporting, BEE and other statutory requirements.
- Handle audits related to labour & statutory compliance.
- Oversee leave management and ensure adherence to employment conditions.
- Support the payroll department in ensuring accurate record-keeping related to labour hours and benefits.
- Handle employee wellness initiatives in alignment with labour agreements.
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Industrial Relations.
Skills
- Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial relations within the manufacturing sector with a large Labour force.
- Driver's License and own car.
