Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the O&M Manager to review project plans and ensure installations meet design, code, and by-law requirements.
- Set up and monitor solar systems, troubleshoot issues, and document outcomes.
- Assemble and install solar equipment for residential, commercial, and large-scale projects.
- Collaborate with the Installation Supervisor and Engineering to complete installations.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards, while minimizing costs and waste.
- Maintain warranty, repair records, and efficient logistics for repairs and returns.
- Provide clear, professional communication with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Keep projects within budget and complete on schedule with crew collaboration.
Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate NQF 4
National Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (NQF 6)
3 Phase Wireman’s license
AREP/ SAPVIA PV Green Card certification (Preferred)
Up to 3 years’ Solar Installation experience (Both roof and ground mount systems)
Experience in micro and string inverters and setting up monitoring systems.
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite – Advanced Excel).
Sound exposure in solar inverter testing (UPS and Rectifier) and PCB replacement.
Knowledge on reading lithium battery BMS data via USB – RS232 / RS 485 comms cable and upload to PC (screen clips and saving data).
Ability to analyze and mark Excel data for BMS alarms and protection events.
