Introduction
The Senior Supervisor is responsible for effectively using the Demand Forecasting tools to leverage all the resources within the supply chain to fulfill customer demand in a safe, cost-effective, and operationally optimal manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships through effective communication.
- Developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety procedures while ensuring policy compliance.
- Establishing training programs and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
- Monitoring adherence to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and other organizational rules.
- Developing and implementing clear workflow guidelines and instructions for the team.
- Utilising demand tools to produce an accurate customer demand forecast and an effective distribution plan.
- Efficiently managing resources, systems, processes, and plans to optimise productivity and control costs.
- Administrating documentation, records, systems, and processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Developing and implementing effective continuous improvement initiatives/projects to improve productivity, efficiently utilise resources and reduce costs.
- Promoting employee well-being, including physical and mental health, job satisfaction, work-life balance, and a supportive work environment.
- Managing human resources, fleet, and stock resources effectively.
- Ensuring cost-effective and operationally optimal utilisation of resources to meet customer demand.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 12/Matric qualification with Maths & Science.
- A 3-year relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable e.g. BBA or BCom in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Logistics, BSc or BSc (Eng) with postgraduate certification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience in a supply chain operations environment, preferably in the chemical and/or industrial gases sector.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in the direct management of people and teams.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in demand planning & administration.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in the MS Office Suite.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills, specifically in English.
