COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Our client is one of the leading wholesale suppliers of promotional gifts and clothing and they are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their dynamic team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Organize a specific division in their busy Production according to demand and quality standards. You will ensure that orders are branded in time for distribution as well as manage the time-management of the specific branding division.
An excellent production supervisor is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role, as well as knowledge and experience in managing a team and ensuring optimal team performance and satisfaction.
The goal is to ensure the smooth and time-efficient flow of the production operations.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple printing departments
- Plan and prioritize internal operations involving your department to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Determine manpower, timeframes, and supporting functions within other internal departments to cover production demand
- Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations
- Schedule shifts according to production needs
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, timeframe to completion, and any additional valuable information regarding this for forecasting experience)
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Keep paperwork organized
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, Warehouse, and all other internal staff
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- Production / Planning related tertiary qualification (Added advantage)
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proven experience as a Planner or within a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Good at math and statistics
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Promotional gifts and clothing industry experience will be an added advantage
- Own reliable transport
