Job Advert Summary
Boxer Superstores is seeking a Location Planning Manager to join our team at the East London Distribution Centre. This critical role will be responsible for managing the flow of stock from suppliers into our DC and stores, ensuring stock availability standards are met and optimised. You’ll be working closely with suppliers, internal teams, and leading the Location Planners team to ensure stock levels are aligned with operational needs, and all key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Postgraduate studies are a plus).
- Experience: 5+ years in supply chain management, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of DC operations, Bomm systems, ERP, and demand planning systems. Advanced Excel and BI reporting skills are essential.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team, and strong communication and negotiation abilities to drive results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Stock Management: Oversee stock availability across the DC and linked stores by managing out-of-stocks, low stocks, and overstocks.
- Issue Resolution: Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve stock-related issues.
- Stock Optimisation: Manage discontinued, suspended, and slow-moving lines to ensure effective stock flow and minimise waste.
- Supplier Coordination: Monitor supplier and store strike rates, and oversee supplier returns and uplifts.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Location Planners team, ensuring KPIs are consistently met and operational goals are achieved.
- Promotions & Readiness: Ensure promotional stock is available and monitor the readiness of stock for stores and DC operations.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate reports, analyze stock trends, and support decision-making with insights that drive continuous improvement in stock management.
