Job Advert Summary
To monitor fore bay level, main pumps, pump outputs, destination station, pump efficiencies and to capture all information as required by the shift supervisor for compilation of daily and monthly reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)/ NQF 4 or N3 National Certificate in Water and Wastewater Treatment
- Desired Qualification - National Diploma in Water Care/ Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years’ water purification experience
- Computer literacy
- Class IV Process Controller Classification will be added advantage
- A valid driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 driver test
Primary Duties
- Starting and stopping of pumps, following the required operations procedure.
- Perform inspection for any leaks or other abnormalities.
- Monitoring of pump performance and taking daily readings.
- Reporting defects on the plant on time to ensure maximum plant availability.
- Ensure the working environment is safe and complies with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Ensure the ISO 9001 requirements are met and complied with at all times.
Knowledge
- Operating of HV and LV electrical equipment and large pumping units.
- Basic knowledge of OHS Act and its applications.
- Basic knowledge and application of ISO 14000 and ISO 9001.
