Your opportunity:
This position will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing internal and external events for the Department of Computer Science. This position will craft event communications, determine logistical requirements, liaise, and engage with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders, and will recommend and coordinate with external events agencies when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Analyzing client needs and making recommendations on event logistics and options
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Overseeing the implementation of event plans and activities
- Conducting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes
- Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
- Minimum three years experience coordinating end-to-end logistics of internal and external events.
- Experience conceptualizing and executing on event activities in line with internal/external stakeholder requirements.
- Experience preparing event-related information and promotional material and maintaining information on digital platforms.
- Experience conducting post-event evaluation and analysis.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Demonstrated skills using content management systems WordPress and Drupal or acceptable equivalent.
- Skilled in the use of event management platforms (e.g., Eventbrite) and online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and connect with diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate event logistics and troubleshoot in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Ability to set up and trouble-shoot audio-visual equipment.
- Demonstrated diplomacy, tact and ability to interact with a diverse group of stakeholders with professionalism.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and competing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and positively in a team setting.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Experience coordinating logistics for events for student recruitment and/or industry relations.
