Why you should join our team as a Machine Operator:
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the cable machines. You will be under limited supervision and responsible for moderately complex manufacturing processes utilizing manual and automated equipment. You will perform routine maintenance, set-ups, operation, and adjustments as well as ensure processes and equipment remain within acceptable company manufacturing standards. You will also perform cleaning and troubleshooting while maintaining necessary documentation and maintaining the work area.
This position is based in our St. George, UT location and reports to the Production Supervisor. The schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm.
This position has a competitive salary between $16 and $20.50/hour plus the opportunity to receive an additional company profit-sharing bonus every 3 months. A day on the job may include:
- Perform the setup and operation of machines on designated lines according to the production schedule.
- Responsible to request people, material and tools needed to meet production schedule.
- Able to coordinate team members as needed.
- Perform some daily maintenance and/or repair work on equipment as needed.
- Perform periodic quality checks and tests to ensure the best quality products are being produced.
- Responsible for documentation and provide signature to verify compliance with all required quality specifications and procedure checks for the assigned area.
- Ensure all safety devices are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed.
- Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required.
- Communicate changes and other production information to team members.
- Must follow all safety requirements of the position and help train team members of safety requirements.
- Other tasks as assigned.
This job may be for you if you can:
- Lift up to 65 lbs. at any given time.
- Able to push/pull more than 200 lbs. at any given time.
- Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and/or sitting in tight spaces will be necessary.
This job may be for you if you have:
- 6+ months in a production position preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with minor mechanical repairs (e.g., jams, using tools, making basic adjustments to equipment, etc.).
- Experience with preventative maintenance (e.g., inspecting and maintaining equipment, detecting and correcting issues before they occur, etc.).
- Strong computer skills are required including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
