Position Overview
This position reports to the Managing Director and forms part of the Executive Committee. As the Head of Finance for this Manufacturing company, you will manage the finance team, the full financial function (including payroll), oversee the day-to-day administration of the Finance and Admin teams, ensure strategic alignment of the department, and provide timely and relevant financial information to stakeholders (EXCO, Board of Directors, Shareholders, etc.) to enable effective operational and strategic decision-making. - Reports to: Managing Director
- Staff Reporting: Finance Division (3 People) & Admin Team
- Turnover: ±R130 Million per annum
- Size of Company: ±150 Employees (Monthly and Hourly paid workers)
Key Responsibilities
- Management of full accounting function and department (Accounting, Creditors, Debtors, Cash Management, Asset Control, etc.).
- Presentation of monthly management accounts (within 10 working days).
- Ongoing profitability analysis of products, product lines, and divisions.
- Compilation and submission of annual budget (February).
- Manage annual financial audit ensuring adherence to group timelines.
- Ensuring timely submission and adherence of regulatory reports and payments (VAT, EMP201, Provisional tax, etc.).
- Custodian of Employment Equity plan, BBBEE, Skills Development Plan.
- Custodian of payroll.
- Custodian of ERP system (SYSPRO).
- Ensuring company’s adherence to corporate governance principles (Legal compliance, segregation of duties, internal controls).
- Active participation at EXCO level to drive implementation of the company’s strategic objectives.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience
- BCompt or BCom Accounting Degree and Articles
- 5 - 10 years' experience in:
- Managing the full Accounting / Finance Function of a manufacturing company with a turnover of more than R50 Million per annum
- Forecasting and management of cash flow for the business, including the optimization of return of investment and other pertinent analyses
- Staff Management
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and ERP experience (strong preference for SYSPRO)
