Vacancy: Warehouse Manager or Senior Storeman (George, Western Cape)
Our Client, a leader in the Automotive Industry, seeks to appoint an experienced Warehouse Manager or Senior Storeman to join their dynamic team. Applicants need to reside in and around the George area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Warehouse management.
- Review and check all inbound and outbound goods to ensure they correspond with documentation.
- Receive stock from suppliers.
- Prepare all shipments to customers, and appropriate paperwork, according to warehouse policies.
- Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Perform quarterly stock take.
- Identify stock inaccuracies, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Advise the operational management of inventory discrepancies, recommending improvements in the system, and implementing where necessary.
- Perform stock adjustments by procedures.
- Ensure that stock write-offs due to stock redundancies and expiries, are kept to a minimum.
- Book transport where required, to ensure goods leave the site, and arrive at the customer as per schedule, and in good order.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of goods and containers.
- Ensure stock is placed in the appropriate location when received.
- Comply with a safe working environment, by ensuring that hazardous materials are stored according to regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Sales, Production, Planning, and Dispatch to ensure Sales Orders are delivered on time and in full.
- POD management.
- Provide a daily report on goods returned from customers, and the reason thereof.
- Provide Daily and Weekly Reports on all Sales orders that were not delivered on time and in full, and the reason thereof.
- Uphold housekeeping.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment requirements.
- Resolve customer queries and provide feedback thereon to the customers.
- Assist with credit note requests.
- Driver supervision.
- Coordinate with sales on back-order reduction.
- Flag slow-moving and other stock optimization opportunities to Sales.
- Assist in all logistics-related matters to resolve and reduce working capital.
- General Admin and Filing.
- Uphold the Company’s Code of Ethics.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma in Warehouse or Inventory Management or equivalent.
- Warehouse certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s Licence is essential.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong focus on EHSQ elements, including 5S.
- Previous experience with ERP systems.
- Good communication and people skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Honesty and Integrity.
