Our client in Boksburg, East Rand is looking for a Buyer in Procurement to join their team.
Duties:
Sourcing & Suppliers
- Sourcing suppliers by various means and qualifying new vendors.
- Evaluating vendor performance. Investigating a supplier’s capacity and ability to supply products on time.
- Negotiating prices, quantities, binding contracts and delivery timescales & obtain the best discounts from suppliers.
- Developing effective working relationships with our suppliers & enhancing the reputation of the company with suppliers.
Pricing, Research & Forecasting
- Understanding, Printing or Writing reports about predicted future sales.
- Looking out for price fluctuations in the marketplace. Identifying industry trends and any supplier risks.
- Keeping purchase price records accurate and up to date. Sending out enquiries for goods and then analysing quotations.
- Reacting to any changes in customer demand. Taking into account customer demand, price, quality and availability before making a decision.
- Reviewing pricing and promotional strategies.
Purchasing & Inventory
- Making recommendations regarding purchases.
- Monitoring purchase orders. Calculating the impact of any purchases on company sales and gross margin.
- Correcting orders when needed. Resolving purchase orders and invoice discrepancies.
- Filing purchase orders.
- Assisting with stock rotations as needed.
- Identify, Monitor Slow moving stock & reduce where possible.
Skills & Competencies
