Job Description
The main responsibilities of the Industrial Program Leader are:
- As a Program Core Team member, acting as the interface between the Program and the Plant, representing the Plant by participating in core team meetings and Program Reviews.
- Coordinating industrial work packages and ensuring their accomplishment through a strong functional leadership of an extended team (Capacity planner, industrial footprint analysis, Capex, and plant main functions: PC&L, Engineering Change Coordinator (ECC), Production, Process specialists, Maintenance, Purchasing, Controlling, Quality/HSE, IT, HR).
The main missions of the role are:
- INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
- Full ownership of all Industrial Development activities of the Program.
- Responsible for the work packages execution for the Industrial Development of the Program at the Plant: industrial footprint, CAPEX definition, Plant equipment selection (new/reuse/share), Plant layout, internal flows, industrial trials.
- Responsible for the launch planning and budget from definition till execution.
- Participate in the development of Make or Buy strategy in accordance with Purchasing, Program, and Plant(s).
- Be responsible for HSE and ergonomic convergence in the Plant.
- PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
- On behalf of the plant, approval of all upstream Process Development activities (M-BOM, Production Line Definition, Equipment List, Tooling & Equipment Definition & Sourcing from supplier kick-off until final acceptance, HSE & Ergonomics).
- PRODUCTION LAUNCH
- Management of launch activities (Run at Rate) at the Plant and staffing of the extended support team until the full validation.
- Support the production during the ramp-up after the handover to the Plant.
- Support Engineering Change Management as necessary.
- TARGETS AND REPORTING
- Leadership for all Industrial Development objectives for his/her program(s) at the plant.
- Launch status, Launch Cost, respect of CAPEX.
- Launch Cost performance, Program Launch Report (PLR), Process and Machine Capabilities, line capacity, Direct Labor, PPM, Scrap-rework rate, change over time, and on-time delivery.
- Optimize the CAPEX through the footprint, capacity analysis, and the equipment selection.
- Ensure the Industrial Development milestones are passed successfully and on time.
- Report all Industrial Development risk analyses and associated action plans.
- Report on Plant launch activities to the Plant.
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Product/Process Engineering, Manufacturing, tooling design preferably in the automotive industry.
- Project Management, Problem solving & Conflict Management skills, Customer focus.
- Mastering Equipment/Tooling specifications, GD&T, P-FMEA and Control Plan.
- Lean Manufacturing (One piece flow, SMED, KANBAN, HOSHIN workshop, etc.).
- Understanding Finance Basics (Costing, Investments, plant P&L).
- Minimum bi-lingual (English required).
