Job Description
Position Purpose
The principal purpose of the role is to manage the development and delivery of strategic governance and associated policies for TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Towers and Business Process Areas. A significant proportion of these policies will be implemented through the lens of risk and controls management and the associated reportable insights that result. In turn the measurable benefits managed through the presentation of available data will enable and instil the creation of risk-managed value across all TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Towers, helping to align the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS function closer with the business, promoting and facilitating optimisation, effectiveness and efficiency across the entire function.
The role will work in tandem with the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Governance Transformation Lead to ramp-up the newly created TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Governance function and with mutual agreement, gradually taking on the responsibility for the day-to-day execution of end to end governance strategy and policy across the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS technology landscape. The role will be responsible for the implementation of risk management in particular, but with additional focus on all other strategic governance policy initiatives required for the creation of the value associated with linking the business benefits of resilient , responsive and stable technology usage consumed by the ongoing needs of a growing Brambles global business.
The role will incorporate and provide facilitation of TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Governance methods, standards and principles across all processes and capabilities relative to TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS for the purpose of creating value. These strategic and policy-based methods, standards and principles will be co-developed, co-adopted and embedded by the Transformation initiative where applicable.

Major/Key Accountabilities
- Delivering purposeful governance strategy and policy (with risk management a particular focus) to multiple TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS audiences which assist in the creation of value to the Brambles business.
- Be able to create, develop and execute an effective TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS risk and controls framework for applicable and accountable TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS areas in full collaboration and alignment with internal audit and business risk appetite.
- Contribute towards the establishment of a strategic, operational, and technical decision-making governance function (including associated processes) required to ensure that TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS towers are aligned to the organization’s priorities and risk appetite.
- Plan, manage and report on strategic policy development related to execution of TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS sourcing, disaster recovery drills, critical TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS SLAs measurement and service transition.
- Develop and implement processes to assess and/or monitor the effectiveness of TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS strategic procedures to ensure adherence to standards and policies as appropriate.
- Function as the single point of TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS contact for strategy and policy development.
- Review and enhance the current process designs and discuss transformation recommendations with stakeholders at all levels.
- Significant contribution to designing and implementing a TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS operating model in consideration of outsourcing and insourcing models with Tier 1 and 2 suppliers.
- Work collaboratively with the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS team and the Risks and Audit team to report on risks and apply recommendations for corrective and preventative action, whilst identifying opportunities to reduce risks.
- Ensure visibility, transparency, escalation and management of TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS risks inherent in the delivery of end-to-end technology services.
- Be a respected guide in helping risk owners to author their risks, controls, key risk indicators, and key control indicators.
- Execute and mature the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS Governance program in line with heightened standards and mandates.
- Conduct pro-active gap analysis on new and emerging industry standards guidance and lead and promote the standards for TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS organization in adoption.
- Work collaboratively with other corporate Brambles oversight functions to identify and implement consistent and effective approaches to risk governance and control-based activities linked to TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS technology operations.
- Manage the Service Transition Specialist.
Qualifications
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field.
Desirable Qualifications
Applicable certification in associated industry and governance standards.
Experience
- Significant previous experience in managing within a TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS focussed role.
- 8+ years’ experience managing technical staff, transformation and/or BAU change projects.
Strong experience working within a matrix structure.
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building and developmental skills required for developing cohesive strategy and creating governance policies for creation of value in a technology operation.
- Skilled in business case creation.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards allied to risk management and quality assurance (including but not limited to NIST, CSA-CCM, COBIT, ITIL, ISO etc.).
- Advanced interpersonal communications, with strong executive focused (and multi-audience) presentational creation and design skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems and breaking these down into manageable deliverables and outcomes.
- Research, analysis, and judgment skills.
- Excellent written communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills in the team.

Bachelors - Computer and Information Science.
Preferred Level of Work Experience
7 - 10 years.
