Our client, Dutoit Vegetables , based outside Prince Alfred Hamlet (Western Cape), has an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join their team. The main focus of the role will be managing and coordinating the packing facility in line with best practice principles.

The ideal candidate must have excellent management and interpersonal skills, along with a methodical approach to problem-solving and the ability to streamline and optimise processes. A strong analytical mindset is essential for breaking down complex issues, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions that enhance operational performance.

The candidate will report directly to the Commercial Director: Vegetables and will form part of the Senior Management team. Responsibilities will include:

Managing and optimising the packaging facility and processes
Ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and food safety standards
Maintenance and safety of the facility
Personnel management and motivation
Developing and overseeing the operations budget
Ensuring packaging quality
All other tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

Relevant tertiary qualification;
5-8 years’ experience, preferably in a similar packhouse management role;
Excellent computer skills;
Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
