Main Purpose:
To manage a high performing warehouse team to ensure effective and efficient stock movement from inbound to outbound in line with company standards and requirements (Premier Way). manage the current and future operational requirements in the growth phases of Bloemfontein Depot as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- To optimize the flow of stock in the warehouse through operational management processes in order to minimize loss and meet customer requirements in line with company processes and procedures.
- To manage, control and minimize operational costs in line with agreed budget through the implementation of cost control and continuous improvement practises in collaboration with the site management team.
- To ensure compliance and adherence to the requirements of Premier Food Safety standards, policies and procedures through implementation of:
- operational guidelines on good housekeeping practices
- daily cleaning processes and practices
- ongoing maintenance of building and premises in collaboration with relevant parties
- planned and effective infestation controls
as evident through satisfactory internal and external food safety audit results.
- To ensure a safe working environment and compliance to the OHS Act and Premier Health and Safety policies and procedures through implementation of:
- monthly SHE committee meetings and representatives
- training and assessment of operational guidelines/ SOP’s that addresses HSE requirements in order to assure competence and workplace readiness
- review of SOPs in line with agreed schedule or as needed
- To create a high performing warehouse team through the management of staff performance in line with the Premier way.
- Ensure good working relationships with the unions through ongoing engagement and communication with union representatives and workplace forums in line with the requirements of the Premier way
- Support sales excellence and customer service
