Stores Assistant Our client is a precision engineering company providing high-quality products and services for customers in the science and semiconductor industries. They are currently looking for
a Stores Assistant to join their team in Hailsham.
JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE - Provide support to all cells and production areas, ensuring material replenishment with minimal disruption.
- Pick and kit work orders, ensuring timely transactions.
- Ensure goods are booked in, processed, and dispatched on time and safely.
- Maintain inventory levels through daily cycle counting, achieving stock accuracy over 98%.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Supply materials to Points of Use (POU) and respond to line signals for replenishment.
- Perform decanting operations and transportation of materials.
- Receive, store, control, move, and dispatch stock, maintaining FIFO and stock security.
- Transact stock movements in the inventory management system (AX).
- Perform daily cycle counting and manage stock control within Stores and PPMs.
- Prepare, transact, and arrange the collection of materials for external suppliers and spares kits.
- Ensure safe material movements and participate in the 5S programme.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - Experience in a Stores and/or Material handler role
- High level of fitness
- Computer literate with basic Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems for inventory management
- Knowledge of safe manual handling principles
QUALIFICATIONS - GCSE/O level equivalent in English and Maths
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of export procedures (nice to have)
37-hour week, flexible working with a 12pm Friday finish.
