Job Opportunity: Trade Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities: - Regular/Routine:
- Drive growth of trade finance income and business volumes by marketing and selling trade finance products to identified customers.
- Re-engineer and roll out customized trade finance products to the existing portfolio.
- Agree on department budgets with the head of department and monitor performance against budget.
- Maintain existing client base and acquire new business from the market.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and bank legal requirements in trade finance operations.
- Liaise with internal business units to support future requirements.
- Support Relationship Managers in marketing customized products to grow incomes and business volumes.
- Conduct market intelligence on trade products and pricing models regularly to keep the bank competitive.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to customers.
- Periodic Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in resolving problems within the area of responsibility.
- Initiate actions to address identified service level issues.
- Ensure adherence to agreed SLAs within the department.
- Special and Other Duties:
- Develop and agree on individual and team performance objectives, standards, and targets annually.
- Regularly review performance against agreed objectives.
- Identify development and training needs and create plans to address them.
Skills/Competence Requirements: - Basic knowledge of trade finance and international banking operations.
- General awareness of banking products, services, procedures, and exchange control regulations.
- Working knowledge of targeted market segments.
Qualifications: - A good first Degree in a business, finance, accounting, or management-related discipline.
- A relevant Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Recognized professional certification is a plus.
- 2-5 years of banking experience, with a focus on sales and/or credit.
