Job Overview
The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for non-stock surface materials procurement within the plant environment. The role is critical in leading strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of critical materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for non-stock surface materials.
- Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships.
- Compile and administer complex, high-value tenders in mining and processing plant environments.
- Optimize procurement processes to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct local, international, and low-cost country sourcing.
- Utilize integrated MRP systems for demand planning and procurement.
- Develop and maintain procurement strategies aligned with plant operational requirements.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and risk assessments.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement budgets.
Qualifications
- Required: Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management or Procurement Management.
- Advantageous: Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management or Procurement Management.
Experience
- 5-10 years in compiling and administering complex, high-value tenders in mining & processing plant environments.
- 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience (local, international, and low-cost countries).
- 3-5 years of experience with integrated MRP systems and demand planning.
