This position reports to: Finance Manager
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Preparing monthly Balance sheet reconciliations
- Process monthly standard journals, provisions, and accruals
- Comparing budgets to actual results and reporting on variances from the budget
- Maintaining and reconciling intercompany loans.
- VAT preparation and submission to SARS as well as dealing with any audit queries from SARS.
- PAYE monthly submission to SARS.
- Preparing audit files and assist with co-ordination of the audit and address audit queries
- Full responsibility of fixed assets, this includes maintaining fixed asset registers and preparing and processing monthly depreciation journals.
- Assisting the financial manager and other departments with finance related queries
Candidate requirements:
- B. Com (Honours) in accounting
- SAICA articles will be an advantage
- 15 years Financial Accounting experience with 3 years financial accounting experience in the investment industry will be an advantage
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
- Experience in working with multiple TB’s (5 to 10)
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Strong balance-sheet reconciliation skills
- VAT knowledge, experience in reconciliation and problem solving
- SARS E-filing experience
- Excellent excel skills
- Sage One Accounting system experience
- Good communication skills
- Quick learner
