SA Power Field Service Technician

Duties & Responsibilities
- Service-related duties in the region including repairs, upgrades, technical support, fault finding, system improvement, agency support, and on-site installations.
- Provide on-site technical service and support on all SA Power service-related products.
- Responsible for technical projects after they have been signed over to the Service Team.
- On-site technical service and support up to fault finding level. The Field Service Technician must be able to identify any mechanical issues and resolve those. The repair of these mechanical systems (agency related) is the responsibility of the workshop in Randburg.
- Perform administrative tasks by correctly and timeously completing job cards, timesheets, and logbooks.
- Provide quotes to customers and assist with sales within the branch/region.
- Build and maintain customer relationships and promote SA Power projects, products, services, and training.
- Provide technical telephonic and customer walk-in support.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Grade 12.
- A recognised qualification from a reputable institution or training centre.
- Trade Test Certificate (Electrical or Millwright).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar industry/factory environment.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in AC drives; electrical panel-building; electrical wiring and fault-finding; and basic knowledge of PLC programming - Ladder, Structured text.
- Must be efficient in hardwire circuit fault-finding.
Applicants must be adaptable to flexible working hours including working after hours and some weekends.
