IDEXX is seeking a Distribution Manager, to be located in Kyalami, Johannesburg to provide support to the distribution team comprising of four direct reports, and oversee the Supply Chain activities.
In this role, you will be responsible for all the warehousing and distribution activities, including inbound, receiving, put away, pick/pack and ship. You will be mentoring your team members, find ways to increase quality and implement best practices across all levels. You will establish appropriate controls, metrics and monitoring processes to ensure that all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way. You will also act as the link between global supply planning and the local commercial organization to ensure effective planning. You will work collaborate with Procurement, Customer Support and Import/Export. You will also work closely with the facility department to activities and maintenance.
Ultimately, IDEXX will trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable. You will support the development of the team, you will setup the budget for distribution and facility, and maintain up-to-date operating policies and procedures.

You will ensure yourself and the team are compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
You will lead work activities of the business unit/group/area/function/program, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained.
You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. Collaborate with the Global Operations Team to align processes, goals, and strategic initiatives.
You will communicate with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.
You will provide internal/external customer feedback and leads or contributes to process or other improvements based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs. Utilizes data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience. Proactively identifies problems, obstacles and opportunities to address issues, striving for continuous improvement.
You will prepare reports and other information summarizing work activities and reports results to peer groups as well as senior management. Prepares various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions. Represent the distribution team at the country governance meetings and during business reviews.
May coordinate the work of external vendors and contractors as needed
What You Will Need to Succeed:
You will have a Bachelors degree and 5+ years of related professional business experience
You will have a strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with solid business acumen and experience across a variety of functional disciplines
You will have excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills
You will be experienced with directly managing and/or leading work of others and have the ability to motivate and influence, including cross functionally, to gain commitment and support for decisions and to motivate the organization to support business changes
You will have the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and possess excellent change management skills with ability to communicate vision and inspire others
You will be results and action-oriented with strong organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under strict deadlines and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment based upon business needs
You will be Fluent in the English language with effective communication skills both verbal and written
You will have the ability to write operating procedures, reports, business presentations
You will have the ability to effectively present information and explain business requirements to various audiences including senior management
You will have familiarity with SAP or other enterprise software along with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Forklift driving license or certification is preferred
