Role Purpose
Our client is seeking a dedicated Unit Manager to oversee and enhance the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a structured hospital environment. The successful candidate will ensure clinical excellence through the effective management of human and organizational resources while fostering a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient care meets clinical quality standards and complies with company policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify and manage clinical risks within the unit.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the unit’s staff to achieve departmental goals.
- Oversee operational and capital expenses within budgetary guidelines, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Drive initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A 3- or 4-year Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
- A postgraduate qualification in the unit's specialist area (if applicable).
- Nursing education qualification. (advantageous)
- Nursing management qualification. (advantageous)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- At least 2–3 years of leadership experience in a hospital environment.
- Expertise in Infection Prevention and Control. (advantageous)
- Experience in Clinical Facilitation. (advantageous)
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in auditing and accreditation processes.
- Strong clinical risk management abilities.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and digital tools.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Sound knowledge of financial management and budget control.
- In-depth understanding of human resource processes, including employee relations.
- Expertise in infection prevention and control protocols.
- Proven ability to manage staff productivity and team dynamics.
- Functional knowledge of nursing practices and relevant legislation.
- Effective patient complaint management skills.
