Key responsibilities / main job duties:
- Crimping of contacts to wires ensuring that crimping is done to correct standards
- Inserting wires to connectors
- Sleeving / harnessing of wires to form a loom adhering to set standards
- Correct assembly of wires to form a loom using the relevant work specification (schematic, instructions, samples)
- Running wires using running lists
- Routing cables on loom boards
- Assisting with loom installation into product
- Soldering of components where required
- Using the heat gun to seal the looms
- Ensuring that sleeve and or wires do not have nicks, breaks in them as this can result in sparks which may result in damage to wires, product
Candidate requirements:
- Qualification and/or professional license(s)
- Matric
Experience needed
- Hand tool experience (heat gun, glue gun, soldering iron, etc)
- Electronic, wiring, component knowledge
- Soldering experience (small components, wiring)
