Medical Debtors Clerk, Ophthalmology Practice Pretoria
Our client, an Ophthalmology Practice based in the northern Pretoria region, is seeking to recruit a well presented and experienced medical debtors' clerk.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and kind manner, whether in person or telephonically
- Reconciliation of bank deposits with outstanding debtor balances received.
- Reconciliation of bank deposits with medical aid remittance advices.
- Processing of electronic receipts relating to the medical aid remittance advices and debtor deposits.
- Allocating receipts issued by reception staff to correct invoice lines.
- Daily checks that all bills went through to medical aids hassle free.
- Liaison with medical aids relating to non-payment or short payment issues and all other relating enquiries.
- Liaison with debtors relating to non-payment or short payments and sending out account statements.
- Liaison with third party debt collectors.
- General reception and administrative duties.
- Billing is done by the employer and is therefore not a responsibility of the debtors' clerk.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Matric
- An appropriate tertiary qualification will count in favour of the successful candidate, but is not required
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar medical administration position
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook & Excel)
- Medical software experience (GoodX & Autoprax) will be an advantage
- Medical billing experience is a requirement
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
- Non-smoker with sober habits
