Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Expeditor to join their dynamic procurement team, based in Sandton
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely ordering, manufacturing, and delivery of materials to meet project deadlines. Working in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, the Expeditor will manage schedules, track progress, and resolve any issues to ensure smooth operations and project success
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the on-time delivery of supplier orders to meet project specifications
- Expedite materials and work orders to support efficient manufacturing and shipment of goods
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments to ensure minimal disruptions to project timelines
- Attend supplier meetings, monitor progress, and recommend schedule acceleration measures
- Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Project Management, and Engineers to prioritize critical orders and resolve delays
- Analyze project schedules and identify risks to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain accurate records and reports to support decision-making and improve procurement processes
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in expediting within a large-scale project environment - EPC/EPCM experience is advantageous
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and industrial plant equipment, with pyrometallurgical industry experience being a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
