Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.
This is a specialist management support role within a business unit that does not have any direct reports. This role assists and advises managers on the financial implications of business decisions to aid growth and profit. Responsibilities of the job include: compiling and managing a budget, account payments, expense and/or debt management, preparing financial reports and statements, commentaries, payroll, undertaking financial administration and internal audits.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Financial management of costs and recovery in respect of monthly variance analysis to budget per cluster
- Assistance with the following monthly actions:
- Management meetings to discuss the performance of the cluster with the Cluster Head
- Forecasting for Cluster
- Commentary on Clusters' actual vs budget as well as forecast vs full-year budget variances
- Half and year-end closing
- Reconciliation of Headcount
- Annual Budgeting of Clusters income and expense
- Develop and maintain transparency of IT cost and cost drivers
- Manage relationships with internal and external clients
- Management of provisions/accruals
- Translating financial reports to non-financial / IT technical people
- Identify trends and provide corrective action
- Financial process improvement and controls effectiveness
- Perform month-end journals
- TM1 expense updates
Qualification
Experience
- 3 years relevant Finance experience in IT and/or financial services industry
Knowledge
- Financial knowledge and financial exposure with good Excel skills
- Ability to understand IT related concepts
