A Social Impact and Philanthropic focused Private Equity Fund is looking for an Investment Analyst / Corporate Finance Specialist to join their team in Stellenbosch . The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of commercial understanding and have a shared interest in the philanthropic and social impact endeavours.
The position will play a key role in supporting the CEO in running the day to day functions of the Private Equity fund, supporting portfolio companies to drive their corporate finance and strategic initiatives, writing investment reports and building financial models. An important part of this role will be to engage with multiple key stakeholders, including investors, banks, funding partners, lawyers and executives at portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Writing of reports: Prepare detailed financial reports, investment memorandum, and market research presentations to support deal evaluation and investment decisions.
Transaction support: Assist in all stages of transaction execution, including due diligence, deal structuring, financial analysis, and coordination of deal documentation.
Due diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial, operational, and market assessments to identify risks and validate business assumptions.
Running legals: Support the legal and compliance teams by reviewing contracts, managing data rooms, and ensuring all legal documentation is in order throughout the transaction process.
Financial modelling: Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including financial forecasts, valuation analyses, and scenario planning.
Internal analytics and comparative analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis and comparative benchmarking of potential investments, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform investment strategies.
Capital raising: Assist in the preparation of investor materials, financial presentations, and due diligence packages for capital raising efforts, supporting senior team members in managing investor relationships.
Administrative support: Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the investment team, including coordinating meetings, managing documents, and supporting various operational tasks.
Stakeholder engagement: You will be responsible for engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders, including investors, board members, and external partners, to ensure clear communication, foster strong relationships, and support the execution of key business initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified CA(SA) / CFA (level 2 or 3) / CGMA
A minimum of 4 years of work experience
Must have great written communication skills
Must have commercial sense and entrepreneurial spirit
Must be passionate and actively involved in Social Impact or Philanthropic endeavours
