Fully Remote role - Based in Durban
Company with software design and implementation requires the services of a skilled payroll implementation and consulting specialist.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implementing the software at clients' premises
- Performing need analysis and payroll setup in such a way that all statutory requirements are met i.e. Tax requirements, UIF requirements, Basic Conditions of Employment Act etc. for RSA and Africa Clients (Angola, Nigeria, Swaziland) including Middle East
- Consultations at clients which involve problem solving, giving advice on best practices, statutory issues, supporting clients with payroll processes and implementing modules.
- Assisting clients with their Tax Year Ends and Mid-year Tax Year Recon which involves and SARS E-filing
- Invoicing clients
- Compilation of consulting reports which are signed off by the clients
- Managing own schedule
- Meeting monthly targets which are based on consulting, training, and support hours
- On-site training at client’s premises
- Telephone Support to all clients, including gathering enough information to solve problems effectively, assessing the problem, and performing backup investigation
- Logging of calls on Call Logging System (CRM)
- Presenting Training Courses
- Staying up to date with all statutory changes
- Establishing a network with SAGE Payroll users in the industry
- Supporting upgrades and legal patches
- Dealing with ongoing client queries
- Testing reported problems/queries for clients
Human Resource Responsibilities
Maintaining the Human Resource procedures throughout the coastal region of South Africa in terms of the following aspects:
- Administering various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
- Development & implementation of policies and procedures
- Preparing and maintaining employee handbook and other department-related documents
- Participating in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Performing benefits administration to include change reporting, preparing invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees
- Conducting recruitment efforts for all non-exempt personnel and temporary employees
- Monitoring career pathing programs and writing/placing advertisements
- Evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals
- Recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvements
- Maintaining human resource records and compiling reports from databases
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
Payroll Responsibilities
To ensure there is a clear audit trail for every transaction and that data is stored in a manner that ensures it can easily be retrieved:
- Preparing and maintaining personnel files for individual employees
- Ensuring confidentiality of personal and payment records
- Processing payrolls for financial year-end processing
- Providing timely action requests for transfer of long service leave entitlements
- Calculating redundancy and termination calculations
- Providing support and training in the payroll employee self-service application
- Processing all Workcover related wages and payments and tracking medical threshold limits
- Reviewing and calculating timesheet data and hours worked
- Calculating salaries, wages, and overtime wage sheets
- Creating and running salary sheets and reports
- Managing, maintaining, and updating payroll-related data
- Updating salary sheets and schedules
- Answering and clarifying employees on payroll-related inquiries
- Submitting payroll reports and sheets on time to the finance or other related departments
- Assisting administrative or finance staff in processing payrolls of new hires or terminated ones
- Capturing all client personnel transactions (New hire, Termination, Pensions, Provident & Retirement funds, Medical aids, Unions, Benefits deductions, and any other relevant details)
- Gross to net salary calculation, audit, and balancing
- Compiling 3rd party and Vendor transactions, including preparations and submissions of the monthly and weekly bank files, PAYE, UIF, and SDL payments to the respective authorities
Minimum Requirements
Required Minimum Education / Training - Matric plus 5+ years relevant experience
- Degree/Diploma or a relevant tertiary qualification in IT and/or Payroll Diploma
- Certifications relating to the payroll industry will be advantageous
Required Minimum Work Experience - Relevant experience in Service, Consulting, and Implementation
- In-depth understanding of the customer services model and of the customers’ business environment
- In-depth knowledge of PeopleWare and Payroll
- At least 3 years’ experience in Payroll and advanced Excel
- Good understanding of the PeopleWare services in various industries

R 170 - R 175 - Hourly
