Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Tax Consultant / Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to clients. He/She will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. They will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities. The ideal candidate must have 3 - 5 years’ experience in an accounting firm.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage full accounting and tax function portfolio.
- Produce monthly management reports.
- Full accounting function to trial balance.
- Drafting of annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors on CaseWare.
- Provide advice on all tax and accounting matters.
- Must have experience with e-filing.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies, VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.
- Prepare VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.
- Competent to attend to all SARS correspondence.
- Filing of notices of objections, and suspension of debt on e-filing.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Must be willing to travel to clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma. This is non-negotiable.
- Completed Articles.
- Affiliations to SAICA, SAIPA, ACC, CIMA and SAIBA are preferred.
- Working Pastel Experience and knowledge.
- Knowledge of CaseWare and Pastel is imperative.
- At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in an accounting environment.
- Own Vehicle and Valid driver’s license.
