Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader for our Universal Banking division in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and motivating a team of banking professionals, ensuring the delivery of exceptional universal banking services to our diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of universal banking professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the delivery of a comprehensive range of banking products and services, including retail, commercial, and investment banking offerings.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and expand our client base.
- Monitor team performance, set targets, and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant banking regulations and internal policies.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall banking operations.
- Resolve complex customer issues and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new banking products and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a proven track record in team leadership.
- Minimum 3-5 years managing and driving a sales team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of universal banking products and services.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in the banking sector.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency in banking software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Professional banking certifications (e.g., Chartered Banker, Certified Banking & Credit Analyst) are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other South African languages would be advantageous.
