Financial Controller - Infrastructure Solutions (Zambia and Swaziland)
Key purpose:
The Financial Controller is an advanced level role in the Management Accountants job family. They operate at a national level in medium to advanced complexity environments.
Duties and responsibilities:
- The Financial Controller will be responsible for the compilation of the detailed budget for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units for Dimension Data. The detailed budget needs to be compiled with input from the Practice Manager and the Finance Business partner. To build out the budget for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units, the following needs to be considered:
- Annuity Base
- Employee costs
- Overheads
- Recoveries
- The budget for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units to be signed off by the Vice President of Finance.
- The Financial Controller will be responsible for the compilation of the detailed forecast for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units per month, considering the following inputs:
- Annuity Base for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units
- Salesforce pipeline for new business
- Employee costs for employees allocated to the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units
- Overheads
- Recoveries
- The Financial Controller will be responsible for month-end closure and monthly accounting for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units for Dimension Data, including the analysis of the accounting entries and processing of necessary cost and revenue accruals.
- In addition, the Financial Controller will also be responsible for the month-end closure of one or two business units for Infrastructure Solutions (IS) South Africa, including:
- Reviewing revenue and margin per category against forecast and investigating variations to the forecast.
- Processing necessary cost and revenue accruals and deferrals.
- Analysing low margin or high contracts for correctness.
- The Financial Controller will be responsible for various reporting to facilitate the review of the performance of the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units, including variance analysis of actuals vs budget.
- Coordinating the preparation of the annual financial statements and liaising with auditors in the relevant jurisdictions.
- Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet general ledger accounts for the IS Zambia and IS Swaziland business units.
- Processing and submitting the VAT and tax returns after consulting with auditors.
- Assisting with the review and approval of commission calculations for Infrastructure Solutions.
Qualifications and experience:
- 2 - 3 years working experience
- BCom or similar qualification
