A leading vertically integrated engineering, procurement, and construction company with offices in Kenya and South Africa, specializing in designing and constructing premium, bespoke solar energy systems, is seeking a highly motivated Renewable Energy Sales Engineer to join its dynamic team. The company offers full-service commercial solar power systems for businesses across Africa, providing clean energy solutions through both microgrid and grid-tied photovoltaic solar systems.
The Renewable Energy Sales Engineer will be tasked with developing sales opportunities for renewable energy solutions, with a focus on medium to large Commercial and Industrial (C&I) projects.
The responsibilities include:
- Working with internal teams and/or customers to develop optimized technical solutions for renewable energy projects.
- Preliminary technical solution design.
- Costing and proposal write-up.
- Assisting in client contract negotiations.
- Developing sales with new and existing accounts.
- Formulating competitive strategies.
- Contributing to the business plan.
- Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers within the industry.
The qualifications for this role include a minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience in renewable energy or related fields , a technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, diesel generators, and electrical reticulation , the ability to work with customers and partners on technical questions and solutions, excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to work well in a matrix organizational structure, knowledge of project management, experience with large-scale solar installations, and a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
