Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Child and Youth Care Specialist to join our team at Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and older persons placed at our care facilities. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs to meet the needs of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child and older person, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, counseling, and support groups to promote resident well-being and resilience.
- Collaborate with external social workers, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of resident progress, including attendance registers, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including regular reviews of policies and procedures, to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Social Work or related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in child and youth care.
- Registration with SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions) and a clean police clearance certificate.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures governing child and youth care in South Africa.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is R250,000 per annum, plus benefits, including medical aid, retirement fund, and annual leave.
