Our client seeking a dynamic and experienced couple to fill the roles of Camp Manager and Guide/Ops Manager at their exclusive 5-star game lodge. This unique opportunity offers the chance to work together in a stunning safari setting, ensuring seamless operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Camp Manager will oversee daily lodge operations, staff management, guest services, maintenance, and housekeeping. The role requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to create a welcoming and luxurious environment for guests, ensuring that service standards are consistently high.
Guide/Ops Manager will lead and coordinate all safari activities, managing the team of rangers and ensuring safe, educational, and thrilling game drives. You will also be responsible for coordinating logistics, training staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction with personalized experiences in the bush.
Key Responsibilities:
- Camp Manager:
- Oversee all lodge operations, including guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
- Manage a team of lodge staff, ensuring smooth coordination and high standards of service.
- Ensure the lodge meets health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with marketing, guest relations, and event planning as required.
- Guide/Ops Manager:
- Lead and manage game drives and bush walks, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests.
- Supervise and train guides to maintain the highest level of professional conduct and expertise.
- Manage safari vehicle maintenance, equipment, and logistics.
- Curate customized safari itineraries and offer interpretive services to guests.
Requirements:
- Camp Manager:
- Proven experience in lodge or hotel management, ideally within a luxury or safari environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in managing a team and overseeing operations.
- Knowledge of hospitality best practices and guest service excellence.
- Ability to work in a remote, self-sufficient environment.
- Guide/Ops Manager:
- Professional FGASA NQF 4 qualification or equivalent.
- Extensive experience as a safari guide, with a strong knowledge of wildlife, conservation, and safety procedures.
- Previous experience managing a guiding team or safari operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
