Role Overview:
As the Wine Club and Sales Ambassador, you will be the face of our Wine Club in the tasting room, engaging with guests to create unforgettable experiences that encourage wine club membership and sales. This role involves close collaboration with the Tasting Room team, aiming to meet sales targets, foster customer relationships, and uphold Steenberg’s reputation for exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wine Club Membership Growth: Process all orders, handle payments, and coordinate deliveries for members. Drive membership growth by promoting the Wine Club, assisting with sign-ups, and participating in promotional events.
- Sales & Customer Engagement: Provide welcoming and responsive service to all guests, offer expert wine guidance, and work to maximize sales opportunities.
- Customer Care & Satisfaction: Serve as a Wine Club ambassador, addressing member inquiries, mitigating feedback, and ensuring positive guest experiences.
- Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on membership and sales metrics to support growth strategies.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and labor regulations within the tasting room to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Daily Operations: Assist with cash-ups, cleanliness, and overall tasting room operations to maintain an inviting and efficient atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Education: Matric; additional certifications in wine or hospitality (e.g., WSET or relevant wine course) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a wine sales or hospitality role.
- Key Skills: Exceptional customer service, strong communication, attention to detail, high energy, organizational skills, and numeracy. Must be comfortable operating POS systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle other physical aspects of the role as needed.
