We are looking for a skilled Principal Network Engineer to join our team and take the lead on network planning, evaluation, and maintenance across large-scale data networks. This role requires a highly experienced individual capable of designing, implementing, and managing various network systems to ensure the efficient operation of MAN, WAN, and LAN environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform network evaluation, planning, provisioning, and maintenance across Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Local Area Networks (LAN).
- Design and implement data telecommunications networks, ensuring capacity planning and provisioning for systems supporting approximately 10,000 users.
- Lead the design and implementation of internet protocol subnet masks, including route summarization.
- Manage dynamic routing systems, particularly OSPF, and follow strict change management processes.
- Ensure the successful implementation of outside plant design, cable and line installations, and circuit designs.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF7) or relevant vendor certifications (Cisco, Huawei, Alcatel, Nokia, Juniper, Extreme).
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in a post-qualification role in network design and implementation.
Requirements :
- Strong knowledge of outside and inside plant design, with expertise in circuit design.
- Proven ability to work independently, supervise teams, and ensure that network performance meets business and operational requirements.
- A valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.
