Shipping, Operations and Admin Assistant
Import Export company based in Ndabeni, Cape Town is seeking a highly organised and dedicated individual to join their team as a Shipping, Operations and Admin Assistant. The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, be highly organised, and will be a supportive force in our shipping department. This person should have experience working in an office environment, performing administrative duties, and providing support to managers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures organised shipping records
- Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that arise, working to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase efficiency.
- Maintains a high level of speed and accuracy with excellent attention to detail
- Develops knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices
- Produces and checks shipping documentation required by customers and suppliers
- Updates and maintains accurate shipping information
- Handles invoicing and payment procedures
- Assists with transport arrangements by sea, air, and road
- Deals with customer inquiries relating to orders, shipments, and deliveries
- Ensures correct document filing for import shipments
- Provides liaison between the company, air/sea carriers, and couriers
- Works well with management and staff at all levels
- Undertakes various other administrative duties
- Owns reliable transport and is punctual
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma in a similar environment beneficial
- Previous administrative experience in the shipping & logistics sector beneficial
- Good knowledge of import/export documentation
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated
Package & Remuneration
