Web Project Manager | Integrated Digital Strategies | South Africa
The Web Project Manager is a client-facing role that oversees the entire life cycle of web projects from the inception stage to the project launch. They will work closely with designers, WordPress developers, and content creators and act as the liaison between the web team and internal/external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience guiding teams through the web development process, from the intake of projects and requests to scoping, planning, and execution. This role will be the lead for our design and development team and will also support the team at large with development projects, consulting, quality assurance, and training. Many projects need outside-of-the-box problem solving for creative, front-end and back-end solutions, while others will be standard builds. This individual will need to be confident in their own skills, as well as collaborative with the development, design, and marketing teams. IDS is an award-winning digital marketing agency in the United States that delivers integrated marketing solutions for franchisors, franchisees, and franchise development teams. We seek an experienced website development manager with a strong understanding of digital marketing, technical web environments, and project/budget/resource management skills. This is a full-time remote position with a U.S.-based digital marketing agency that requires the candidate to work between the local hours of 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm SAST (GMT +2).
Responsibilities:
- Be a strategic partner to our clients
- Provides positive client experiences through strong customer service skills
- Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for all web projects
- Assists in the initial onboarding of new client web projects
- Manages client expectations and strategies from inception to delivery
- Sets and prepares the budget, tools, scope, and timeline for web projects
- Ensures project profitability and efficiencies while utilizing agency resources
- Collaborates with internal departments to ensure the delivery of timely quality work
- Creates deadlines and action items for every project team member
- Oversees code development and quality assurance testing
- Manages project launch activities
- Leads daily or weekly project team meetings to review progress
- Communicates regular project status updates for the external stakeholders
- Responsible for obtaining client approvals for all new estimates and change orders
- Addresses bottlenecks and adjusts the timeline and deliverables
- Works with team members individually to resolve any issues
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates current operational processes and performance regarding web projects, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary
- Builds and maintains relationships with all department heads, account management team, external partners, and vendors to assist in making decisions regarding web project activities
- Schedules and participates in a weekly update meeting with the Director of Operations to discuss priorities, accomplishments, and hurdles
- Uses all of the company’s business management and communication platforms to keep stakeholders informed, tasks assigned and projects well managed in accordance with deadlines
- Ability to communicate rapidly and effectively with all parties involved in the projects
- Performs ongoing professional development to keep pace with changes and trends within the digital marketing industry
- Stays on top of industry trends in order to stay on the cutting edge
- Assists sales team with presentations and proposal development
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a client-facing project manager in an agency or technical environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing end-to-end website redesign and development projects from discovery to launch
- Ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams from strategy, design, content, and development phases
- Knowledge of project management frameworks and the website development lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading multiple concurrent projects
- Experience with CMSs such as WordPress and HubSpot with additional consideration given to digital marketing or technical backgrounds
- Well-developed communication skills with a focus on clear, intentional, friendly written and verbal communication
- Ability to forecast, benchmark, and analyze project budgets both from an hours-based as well as costs/profits approach
- Demonstrated skills and ability in project management and planning, project risk management, resource management, budget management, and team coordination
- Hands-on experience with project management software such as Bitrix, Monday, Asana, or similar
- Communicates effectively and is comfortable leading internal and external meetings
- Demonstrates excellent time-management, organization, and problem-solving skills
