Duties & Responsibilities
- Servicing of material handling equipment and maintaining forklift serviceability to specified standards and according to set procedures by delivering quality service / maintenance.
- Perform accurate diagnosis / troubleshooting in the event of breakdown of equipment; communicate what repairs are needed by advising customer and/or supervisor.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance and operational data / history by updating and timeously communicating information that must go on record.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Forklift Trade Test OR Auto Electrical OR Diesel / Electrical Fitter Trade Test (Required)
- Min 3-5 years’ experience on electrical OR Internal Combustion forklifts
- Code 8 driver's licence
- Valid forklift operator licence
- Min 3 years mechanical, hydraulic and auto electrical systems (ignition, starting, charging, illumination) experience pertaining to forklifts
- Available for standby / Overtime as required by operation
- Prioritising and multi-tasking skills
- Able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications
- Able to utilise diagnostic equipment and specialised tools
- Maintain work area in clean and orderly condition
- Ability to work under extreme pressure
- Sober habits
- High energy levels
- Good health (physical fit)
- As this position is based in Pietermaritzburg, local residency is required before commencing employment.
