About the job IT Business Analyst
Key purpose:
Our company is currently on the hunt to acquire an IT Business Analyst. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Applications Manager.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT.
- Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
- Ensures that IT programs/initiatives are consistently implemented and managed from an ITGC, TCO & Sustainability perspective.
- Manages specific application quality assurance and help desk activities including the tracking of bug reports and change requests and ensuring their timely resolution.
- Ensures that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software.
- Responsible for the overall success of testing, including results verification and acquiring the relevant release sign-off.
- Establishes the purpose and deliverables of the test effort.
- Ensures continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements.
- Participates in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems assist in determining the project scope.
- Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs.
- The Business analyst documents the functional and verifies technical design of the system in conjunction with a developer or system specialist.
- Sustain the knowledge management content of the business by integrating daily support and project activities to keep documentation consistent and up to date.
- Understands/defines and supplies solutions to mitigate process or system-based gaps.
- Opportunities for submission to the Application Manager.
- Implements business enhancements as per business projects function.
- Assist in improving and streamlining business processes and preparing business process documentation.
- Support the Applications Manager in identifying IT application solutions to address key Business requirements within functional area.
- Work with the Functional Managers to assess current IT capabilities and identify high-level customer delivery timetables.
- Conduct regular system compliance audits and health checks.
- Report on system non-compliance by users to the Applications Manager.
- Identify and highlight business risk to the Applications Manager as a result of non-compliance. Recommend compensating controls to the Applications Manager.
- Work closely with the Data insights team to ensure data flow from all ERP systems to data warehousing and BI platforms are correct and validated.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Information Technology / BCom / BSc.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience within the relevant business function or information technology environment.
- ERP Applications with specific reference to Supply Chain, Warehousing, Manufacturing and Finance.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects relating to superior performance and Continuous Business Improvement.
- Valid Code B drivers' license.
- Relevant systems exposure or certification for an ERP system.
- Relevant systems exposure Best of Breed systems.
