Ensure that the Finance Department meets all its requirements and deliverables timeously, provide support to management and add value to the strategic, commercial and decision-making process of the business.
The Financial Manager will responsible for performing accounting, financial, budget, cashflow, statutory and administrative functions for operations in South Africa and in Sub-Saharan Africa.Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Commerce essential.
- Min 5 years’ corporate finance experience with sound commercial exposure.
- Excellent accounting knowledge and experience up to Annual Financial Statements.
- Good knowledge of statutory and tax regulations.
- Good knowledge of Accounting and ERP software systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with Africa, Syspro and ZAP BI are added advantages.
Key Performance Areas: Reporting to the Financial Director
- Supervise competent staff ensuring functions are performed effectively and within deadlines.
- Prepare and collate budgets and forecasts for the group and business channels.
- Prepare the groups yearly rolling cashflow budget and forecasts.
- Manage debtors and the Age Analysis ensuring that invoices, rebates, fees and payments are processed, complete, accurate and current.
- Address and resolve legacy debtor and online accounts and overdue debtors.
- Manage creditors ensuring documentation, payment requirements and settlement discounts are adhered to, are complete and accurate.
- Review, reconcile and process credit cards on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and process receipts, payments and journals for the foreign subsidiaries.
- Perform bank and cash book reconciliations for the foreign subsidiaries.
- Manage the cashflow and repatriations of funds from the foreign subsidiaries.
- Liaise with banks and obtain foreign exchange rates for the payment of foreign invoices and apply conversions for payments and or financial reporting.
- File payroll, taxation and statutory returns for foreign subsidiaries ensuring payments are made by deadline dates.
- Perform monthly reviews of general ledger accounts for foreign subsidiaries and head office ensuring they are complete, accurate and current.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for foreign subsidiaries and head office ensuring they are complete, accurate and current.
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts and Variance Reporting for subsidiaries.
- Perform analytic reviews and investigate variances, provide solutions and or recommendations to reduce costs and maximise trading margins and profits.
- Attend to the year-end audit requirements and schedules for the foreign subsidiaries and head office.
- Liaise with auditors and tax consultants, provide data, and address queries.
- Ensure annual financial statements and tax returns for the subsidiaries are completed, signed and submitted by deadline dates.
- Attend to the deregistration of relevant non trading entities.
- Comply with all statutory and or regulatory requirements.
- Review internal controls and processes for operational areas and document or update standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies.
- Ensure compliance with SOP and all financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain and or implement an accurate filing system for all financial records and ensure archived data is available and accessible.
