We are looking for a skilled Database Analyst (DBA) to join our IT team. The database environment includes Windows hypervisor servers with SQL Server instances as our primary database platform. Additionally, our core business functions are powered by an ERP solution, making a strong understanding of SQL integrations and automations a necessity.
The successful candidate must have:
- A BEng or BSc in Industrial engineering or similar degree
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Database Administrator
- Proven experience in all aspects of SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, security management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Working knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and DNS servers.
- Understanding of database security best practices and experience with user permissions and access control.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for database automation (a plus).
- Experience working with ERP systems and their database integration (highly desirable).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Industry Certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCDBA) a plus.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables
- Install, configure, and maintain all SQL Server instances.
- Perform ongoing database maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement database security measures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Grant and manage user permissions to databases.
- Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues.
- Participate in system upgrades and migrations.
- Document database processes and procedures.
- Work closely with developers and business users to support their database needs.
- Support the integration of the ERP system with other databases.

- PowerShell scripting: (The ability to automate tasks using PowerShell scripting can significantly improve efficiency when managing Active Directory.)
- Networking: (Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts is essential for troubleshooting Active Directory replication and other network-related issues.)
- Backup and Recovery: (Knowing how to backup and restore Active Directory data is critical for disaster recovery.)
- Understanding of DNS: (As DNS plays a crucial role in Active Directory, having a good understanding of its function is critical.)
- Knowledge of DHCP: (DHCP assigns IP addresses to devices on the network, and some troubleshooting scenarios might involve DHCP.)
