Financial Accountant required in Sea Point, Cape Town.
Have you been managing the full accounting function for various entities and have an excellent track record? If your experience includes working with CaseWare & dealing with African countries this will be highly advantageous.
Our client based in Sea Point requires your financial qualification and proven experience. A driven, reliable, proactive individual with excellent work ethic and problem solving will be well suited to this role.
Requirements:
- Matric, Accounting qualification required (SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, AGA)
- Proven experience as a senior accountant or similar role, supporting CFO
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred (pivot tables, macros) but not required
- Experience in compiling financial statements in CaseWare is required
- Experience in working with financial models is preferred but not required
- Experience in dealing with African countries is preferred but not required
- Xero accounting software experience is preferred but not required
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficient in financial reporting, consolidation, and processing.
- Strong ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop effective solutions.
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Consistently exhibit a high level of discipline in executing tasks & adhering to procedures.
- Demonstrate a willingness to go beyond standard expectations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ensure all reports are compliant with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with other reporting requirements from lenders, shareholders, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and ensure all financial practices adhere to local and international accounting IFRS standards.
- In conjunction with the CFO, successfully managed audits with no significant findings.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions.
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and financial reporting processes.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasts to support business strategy and decision-making.
- Provide insights on trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and present findings to the CFO.
- Prepare and monitor the group’s budgets. Adhere to budgetary controls, providing explanations for any variances & compare actuals to budgeted figures per financial model.
- Communicate financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and auditors.
- Address and resolve financial inquiries or issues promptly.
