Idiom is looking for a tasting room ambassador to join our wine experience centre on a full-time or seasonal contract basis. We are interested in building a wine sales team that has great communication skills. So we are looking for positive self-starters with strong leadership attributes who are flexible and love working in a team environment. Hospitality experience and wine knowledge are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Highly knowledgeable about wines (a must).
- Provide excellent and professional customer service.
- Understand and exceed sales monthly goals and take initiative as a positive self-starter.
- It is critical that the candidate has a warm and polished presentation, focus on cleanliness/neatness, and attention to detail.
- Create a positive and respectful work environment by leading through example, being honest and reliable.
- Any prior knowledge on Pilot/POS is a plus; however, training can be provided.
- Perform daily tasting room duties: conduct tastings and tours, restock wine, wash and polish glasses, perform inventory checks, etc.
Applicants should ideally have:
- A minimum of 6 months of waitering/tasting room and hospitality experience.
- Possess excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
- Great passion for wine & preferably knowledge about key varietals/etc.
- Applicants with formal wine education will receive preference (WSET or CWA).
Applicants MUST be:
- 18 years of age or over.
- Willing to work weekends and share shifts with the team.
- Able to lift a case of wine with ease to assist clients.
Staff Dress Code:
- Tasting Room staff to wear black/white or quite smartly. Where necessary Idiom golf shirts can be provided.
