About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for performing moderately difficult research, design, and systems engineering assignments focusing on our backup environments. You will also respond to system management alerts to handle system/operations exceptions, within the assigned enterprise systems of product offerings. Additionally, this position is also responsible for triage change management support.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing storage and backup solutions based on business requirements.
- Monitoring and maintaining storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Performing regular backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborating with other IT teams to integrate storage solutions with other systems.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for storage and backup processes and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with application programs, common system, or systematic questioning techniques.
- Partnering closely with development and support groups, including vendors to coordinate special operations, and communicate/escalate problems.
Requirements
- Have at least 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
- Have a BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
- Be familiar with Cisco MDS, Infinidat, Isilon, and Cohesity.
- Have understanding of storage systems, Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and Windows infrastructure.
- Demonstrate an understanding of storage systems, including Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system, and Windows infrastructure.
- Have knowledge of virtual server environments and thin client including scripts for automation.
- Have experience with program installation and troubleshooting issues to successful resolution.
- Have understanding of system and problem management tools.
- Have good experience of change management.
