Skills and Experience
What you’ll do:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and risks.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Collaborate with departments to develop realistic budgets aligned with strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Processing of Statutory Work:
- VAT reconciliation, completing SARS E-filing, and managing all VAT audit queries.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Financial Operations Support:
- Support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency.
- Implement best practices in financial management.
Fixed Assets:
- Maintain fixed asset register and reconciliations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with departments across the organization to understand their financial needs and objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and support to help achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate on special projects and initiatives to drive business growth and efficiency.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate financial information efficiently to non-financial stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of financial literacy and accountability throughout the organization.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Financial Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports.
- Timely Reporting: Meet deadlines for financial reporting and analysis.
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Budget Management: Manage budgets effectively and proactively address variances.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and support.
Outcome Measure:
- Financial Health: Measure financial performance indicators such as profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
- Compliance Ratings: Track compliance ratings in audits and regulatory filings.
- Budget Variance: Monitor and report on budget variances and corrective actions taken.
- Process Efficiency: Measure improvements in process efficiency and time savings.
Your Expertise:
- Function-related experience: 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong skills with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Adept at using technology including a variety of software/online tools to analyze and record.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- An effective communicator (written and verbal).
- A ‘team player’ with the ability to work within a collaborative and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to manage quality deliverables with tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Disciplined and self-motivated.
- High degree of accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in finance/accounting.
- Relevant professional certifications, such as CIMA, or similar.

- Permanent Position.
- Location: Midrand - Hybrid.
- Travel: To and from office and client sites.
