The main purpose of this position is to interact and hold responsible all EPC quality workstreams to deliver installations on schedule within engineering specifications, accepted and signed off on time by suitably qualified inspectors.
Responsibilities
- Leads QA/QC Team (Project Company and Owner's Engineer) to manage quality of works, including Factor Testing & Inspection.
- Reviews, agrees and monitors the EPC Project Quality Plan.
- Communicates the quality plan and its objectives to staff, Owner's Engineer and EPC Contractor.
- Supports all Consultants and contractors in the implementation of Quality Plans and procedures and the monitoring of their performance on all Quality matters.
- Develops and implements audit schedules and plans, including unannounced visits.
- Develops statistical reports on Quality performance.
- Identifies and communicates lessons learned through the programmed lifecycle.
- Manages the programmed quality control testing service.
- Coordinates and manages any 3rd party audits as required.
- Develops and implements together with EPC’s QC manager a Quality Management System in the project in accordance with quality requirements of the contract, specifications and Standards.
- Develops the monthly quality report of the Project.
- Verifies directly or indirectly together with the Quality teams and ensures complete procedures.
- Ensures all requirements of quality prescribed by implementing suitable program points of inspection and test plans.
- Attends Kick off Meeting (KOM) together with Contractor’s QC manager and Suppliers/Subcontracts.
- Ensures with QC Coordinator that the subcontractors concerned have the specifications, procedures, guidelines and standards to be used for the project.
- Ensures that all staff receive adequate training.
Qualifications
Ideally, as a Quality Site Manager, you would possess the following:
- Previous experience in Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme (REIPPPP) Project Bidding, Award to Financial Close, Construction and Operations.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is recommended.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality management experience in the power generation industry.
- Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with managing field engineering, inspection, and NDE related to all QA/QC functions.
- Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, deficiencies, and reporting programs, including root cause analysis.
- Quality Culture behaviors (rigorous, systematic, prudent approach, questioning attitude and good communication as an example for the organization).
- Understanding ISO 9001 and related Quality Standards and concepts.
- Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) preferred.
- Experience of performing audits is an asset.
- Willingness to be located on remote sites.
- Driver's license.
