Requirements
- A relevant B Tech or first Bachelor’s degree
- A relevant Honours degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or a related field is highly advantageous
- At least eight (8) years extensive managerial and functional experience in a development planning environment
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Project Management, Informal Economy, Forward Planning and Integration
- Policy development experience in the Informal Economy Sector is advantageous
- Experience working within local government or public sector
- A valid Code B/EB drivers’ licence
Key Performance Areas
- Provide leadership, strategic direction and senior management oversight to Area Economic Development branches
- Manage and implement informal Economy Strategies within the City
- Ensure development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of informal trading interventions
- Ensure efficient and effective project management, forward planning and integration of Economic Infrastructure
- Prepare capital and operating estimates and controls expenditures against the approved budget allocations for the Department
- Ensure Stakeholder engagement and management of key relationships
